Skilled artisans sustain their craft by passing from one generation to the next, adapting form and color to contemporary taste. Multicultural references add depth and intricacy to functional creations. Pieces in this collection echo time-honored motifs and methods sustained through centuries. Reverse-painted glass, etched ceramics and intricate embroidery add a touch of timeless elegance. Warm-toned metallics feature etched designs and antique finishes—evoking the patina of age through artful innovation. Basketry, wood and stone add to the saturated warmth of the entire collection. Classic motifs infuse Heirloom Anthology with a sense of permanence and intrigue.
We are open a bit later each day through October this year: visit us Monday-Saturday 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Evenings in Montreat are lovely this time of year. Pop in to shop after work, and bring a picnic for a late-summer meal, or hike the trails. Ask us for a free trail map when you visit the store. We can also suggest picnic areas--in a gazebo on Lake Susan or at the campground picnic area.
